Abel de Lange

Abel de Lange
(Guitar, Vocals)

Self appointed musicologist, loves all honest and
heartfelt music. He was fortunate to win 2 bottles
of Louisiana hot sauce in 1991 at Fred's Lounge
in Mamou, 'capitol of cajun country', LA. Visits New Orleans and vicinity on a regular basis to see and hear the real deal.
Abel plays guitar, dobro, lapsteel and recently bought himself a bajo sexto.
This is looking for serious trouble!

Evert Willemstijn

Evert Willemstijn
(Bass, Vocals)

Evert is a scilled pianotuner and repairman but in the band he's the good old upright bass player. Though he loves to play in a free and jazzy way he always sticks to the base. He puts a 'The Hague' touch to the Amsterdam based group.
Also plays with multi instrumentalist Frenk van Meeteren.

Louis Ter Burg

Louis ter Burg
(Drums, Mandoline)

Intuïtive multi-instrumentalist who is always tryin’ to pull music out of whatever object. If he succeeds, he’s happy.
Louis was once banging on the bass with a group called Raggende Manne and sailed for a great while with the infamous 4Tuoze Matroze band. In theatre you can see him play with the TOM (Waits) Tribute group.
Louis also composes music for Dutch film, TV and theatre.
For many years he made scores for the beloved Dutch theatre group Carver.

Marius Bos

Marius Bos
(Accordion, Vocals)

The newest member of the Mosquitos is also the nestor of the band . He was 4 years of age when he first started playing the accordion and when he turned 6 he was already playing at wedding parties. Much later he found himself playing the bass with the legendary ‘Child of Nature’ band from the North part of Holland. As many music lovers at the time Ry Cooder’s lp ‘Çhicken Skin Music’ with Flaco Jimenez on accordion, made Marius pick up the accordion again and form a Texmex/Cajun group called ‘Hot Boudin’. In 1996 he started the band ‘Swamp’ who made 3 albums and is still active nowadays. In Marius we find a great compadre! www.swamp.nl
